You said that you respect the young person who is fighting
their sexuality. You also commented that God loves them. I have to say
that I do not agree. In Psalms 5:5, God says He, "....hates the
workers of iniquity." Not the works, but the workers....
My reply:
I appreciate your concerns. In
"My Burden," I wrote:
I am proud of the men and women
who are fighting the battle that few people understand. I am proud of
the men and women who have same gender attractions and have kept their
focus on the God who loves and understands.
Maybe you would have been more
comfortable if I had said, "I am proud of the men and women who have opposite-
gender attractions and have kept their focus on the God who loves and
understands."
But I think of those caught up in
sins of the flesh. Like you, I call this sin and believe that there are
natural consequences that follow actions.
To put things in balance, let's
turn to God's Word and read the story about Simon's feast in Luke 7. Simon
had sinned, but he didn't feel he had sinned very badly ($500)*,
but Mary who had sinned much ($5,000) was the one who loved Jesus the most
and gave Him the best gift of all.
How many dollars have you sinned?
How much do you love God? "And the King shall answer and say unto
them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the
least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Maybe the forgiven homosexuals
will be among the the group mentioned in Matthew 21:
31 ...Jesus saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the
kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed
him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye
had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
Just for a thought. When did you choose
to be heterosexual?... And remember, homosexuality has no more to do with
sex than heterosexuality does.
Morality/immorality are entirely
different issues.
I wish for one day you could wear
the moccasins of people who walk down a lonely road where few people
except Christ will show any love or compassion. A lot of Christian
men wear these moccasins every day of their lives.
